On the seven ways to counter an argument
Abstract
Reception: April 4, 2017 Accepted: June 12, 2017 My aim here is to give an adequate definition of counterargument, establishing a suitable typology of counterarguments grounded on Toulmin’s model. This typology is based on a double criteria: the attacked element (premises, claim or warrant), and the force or strength of the attack as expressed by the appropriate argumentative connector. The result is a more systematic classification of counterarguments, based on linguistic evidences.References
